Africans studied Triops as a possible food source. They even tried to aquafarm it. However, studies revealed two things – it was impossible to grow the Triops in large numbers because of their cannibalistic and aggressive nature; and the ratio of chitin to protein is not ideal and so the Triops are not edible enough unless you’re extremely hungry.
As you can see, in Africa, food is scarce in some regions. Who knows, perhaps in the future, new discoveries can be made.
