Caring of Triops: The Right pH to Use

The required pH varies depending on the specie that you’re raising. The optimal range for the pH is from 7.0 – 9.0; if the pH of water is below 6.0, the Triops longicaudatus might die but there are also times when this specie can tolerate 10.0 pH.

To raise the water’s pH, you can use sodium bicarbonate or commonly known as baking soda. You don’t need to lower the pH unless health issues are present. The good thing about Triops is that they are quite resistant to frequent pH changes. Even if the pH fluctuate within (-, +) 2.0, Triops can survive.
